Heat Treatments
Why choose electric heat over propane heat?
Our heat treatments are fitted with the most cutting edge technology. Our slow heat treatment technology creates an environment where the home gradually heats up and prevents the bugs from scattering to neighboring units in apartment buildings, or areas of the home where they may find escape from the heat. Think of the analogy of the frog in the pot of boiling water, the premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. Through experience we have found this to be true when treating bed bugs.
Through this method, slow heat also protects your valuables and prevents buckling of flooring, unlike propane. You can trust this method of bedbug removal!
Liquid Treatments
Liquid treatments consist of 3 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart. A technician will come to your home and spray all furniture, and walls. A prep sheet will be given prior to the treatments assisting you with how to prep your home. All chemicals used are hypoallergenic and odorless. We will only use the safest and most effective chemicals on the market. Each technician is certified and highly trained to properly apply the chemical in your home or place of business. This is the most traditional form of bedbug removal.
Bed Bug Basics
Bed bugs get their name because they are commonly found in beds but can also be found in other places where humans spend a lot of time: hotels, airplanes, and couches. They can feed on the blood of any warm-blooded animal but their most common targets are humans because we have a lot of exposed skin for them to bite. While feeding, they inject the skin with their saliva (this keeps the blood from clotting) and an anesthetic (this keeps the host from feeling the bite and moving). After feeding, they retreat back to its place of harborage for days or even weeks before coming back out. This can make detection difficult until the infestation is well established. Bed bugs find their hosts while they are sleeping by detecting body heat, the carbon dioxide from exhaled breath and other biological signatures. Although they do not spread disease, their bites can become red, itchy welts. Bed bug bite reactions in skin look like those caused by fleas and mosquitoes, making it hard to tell the difference. Unfortunately, bed bugs can mature in about 35 days and lay 250 eggs in one female life span. They then live about 7 to 12 months. The smaller the infestation, the easier bed bug extermination is to conduct. That’s why it’s important to spot any possible infestation as early as possible.
